Incredible Shade Illusion

When we look at the world around us, we see things in a very specific way. It has to do with the way that light bounces off of objects that are within our field of vision and that light enters into the retina, is converted into data and transferred to the brain. The brain then interprets the data, allowing us to see the world in vivid color. Not only that, we see the world in various shades as well.

When you look at a checkerboard, you see a perfect example of different shades of color. You have alternating light squares and dark squares, and it is something that most of us would not question existed because it is right in front of us. You are about to see an optical illusion, however, that is going to absolutely surprise you. Although it appears to be a checkerboard pattern, there is something there that tricks the eye.

It has to do with the way that the eye sees different shades and the shade that is cast over the squares. They may look as if they are two different colors or variations of shade in the same color, but they are actually identical.
